Since 2.5.4 no longer works, and development pretty much makes a new release every day, I think an mldonkey-cvs ebuild might be in order.  I made one and it works great for me.  Might want to include a pre/post install ewarn that this is a CVS ebuild and don't go complaining if it doesn't work.

Now that the mldonkey people have taken my advice and starting building source tarballs for their releases this is more or less a moot point.  Closing.
