Dropbox currently ships with a binary libstdc++.so.6 in /opt/dropbox. I get the following error: ------------ # dropbox start Starting Dropbox...Done! # /opt/dropbox/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.11' not found (required by /usr/lib64/libproxy.so.1) Failed to load module: /usr/lib64/gio/modules/libgiolibproxy.so ----------- The error occurs when playing with the nautilus-dropbox GUI elements. Removing the file in question resolves the problem. Is there any reason to keep that cruft around ? Reproducible: Always I'm running x86-64 Gentoo
which version are you using?
net-misc/dropbox-1.2.51 gnome-extra/nautilus-dropbox-0.7.1 Thanks!
Please confirm that your dropbox-1.2.51 still contains this lib. It should be removed.
(In reply to comment #3) > Please confirm that your dropbox-1.2.51 still contains this lib. It should be > removed. I can confirm, that the file in question is not part of dropbox-1.2.51. However, as libstdc++.so.6 IS present in /opt/dropbox, it must be a leftover from a previous installation. I wonder, if there are other files from previous upgrades left ....
Here is a complete diff from /opt/dropbox: find /opt/dropbox |sort > a qlist dropbox|grep /opt/dropbox|sort > b diff a b 1,3d0 < /opt/dropbox < /opt/dropbox/ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS < /opt/dropbox/README 38,39d34 < /opt/dropbox/icons < /opt/dropbox/icons/emblems 50,52d44 < /opt/dropbox/icons/hicolor < /opt/dropbox/icons/hicolor/16x16 < /opt/dropbox/icons/hicolor/16x16/status 60,63d51 < /opt/dropbox/libbz2.so.1.0 < /opt/dropbox/libcrypto.so.0.9.8 < /opt/dropbox/libpng12.so.0 < /opt/dropbox/libpopt.so.0 65,66d52 < /opt/dropbox/librsync.so.1 < /opt/dropbox/libssl.so.0.9.8 73d58 < /opt/dropbox/libz.so.1 75,76d59 < /opt/dropbox/netifaces-0.5-py2.5-linux-x86_64.egg < /opt/dropbox/netifaces-0.5-py2.5-linux-x86_64.egg/EGG-INFO
So I don't know what is going wrong, but it is on your site. I cannot reproduce it. So please unemerge dropbox, remove the residuals and emerge it again.
Will do, thanks.
