Description mhakali 2004-02-04 06:19:21 UTC
Make an option to hide your e-mail from public. Now this is too late and my email is publicly exposed to loads of weirdos and spambots browsing through the internet. THANKYOU BUGTRACK.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Register an account

Actual Results:
you get publicly exposed

Expected Results:
not have exposed me

You should report/request this from the people that code bugzilla.
(we just use it).
Also whats bugtraq have to do with anything?

this is an upstream bug... and you can only see emails if you sign up, no web crawler can grab email address through bugzilla unless they sign up and that's quite annoying.

I know this is an upstream problem, but that statement about registerd users is not entirely accurate, since I've started to get a lot of spam I decided to google my e-mail address. And all results point to bugs.gentoo.org and bugday.gentoo.org
And now I see that you don't even need to be signed in to see the e-mail addresses. Perhaps this is some global option at bugs.gentoo.org.

Is this a error or in configuration or not?
