Description Jose Carlos Fernández 2004-02-03 08:50:27 UTC
When I try to emerge kdenetwork-3.1.5, gcc fails saying "Internal compiler error".

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge -u world ;p
2. Wait compiling...
3. and Crash! ;p

Actual Results:
kdenetwork starts to compile, but fails due to a compiler internal error. Gcc
prints (I will include a translation to every line in Spanish):

make[3]: Leaving directory
`/var/tmp/portage/kdenetwork-3.1.5/work/kdenetwork-3.1.5/ktalkd/ktalkd'

I don't include the preprocessed source because i don't see where i can attach

What version of gcc?
Comment 4 Jose Carlos Fernández 2004-02-11 15:15:32 UTC
I don't know really, I updated gcc a few days ago. I though that it showed in the "emerge info". Sorry! :(

In the emerge logfile, I found that the last gcc I emerge before the problems detected with kdenetwork is gcc-3.3.2-r5, on 1 February.

Sorry , i can't say anymore :(
Comment 5 Caleb Tennis (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-04-26 18:16:03 UTC
update gcc and glibc, and retry with a later version. Can't fix internal compiler errors, unfortunately.
