Rygel is supposed to autostart when user logs in, but in gentoo it doesn't since the .desktop file is not installed into /etc/xdg/autostart. There is a similar bug report here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/rygel/+bug/827030 Reproducible: Always
Rygel handles its autostart itself afaik. Please report to upstream, we are installing everything they provide us with.
So, I checked this out again and doing: cp /usr/share/applications/rygel.desktop /etc/xdg/autostart/ fixes the issue for me. The file is there, but not at the desired location. Don't know whose fault this is...
Hum you are correct that this file looks misplaced. I'll fix it while bumping to last version.
