Gentoo PPC installation guide still recommend to use metalog as system logger :

This recommendation has been changed for x86, I think after bug submission #29600 :
http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/gentoo-x86-install.xml#doc_chap16

I think metalog has a major drawback (due to buffering ?) : oops content is never logged both on my PPC or x86 Gentoo (may be similar to long standing bug http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=644199&group_id=30635&atid=399902)

Thanks. I've added syslog-ng information to the guide and use it for recommendation.
