Description Polyhead 2004-02-03 00:33:31 UTC
bootstrap when finishing runs env-update, this caused it to spew errors about not being able to access /var/scripts/gawk

immiadiatly (IE prior to running emerge system) installing gawk went fine and corrected the flaw.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.use the stage1 package from http://gentoo.oregonstate.edu/releases/1.4-rc1/alpha/
2. follow setup procedures and run bootstrap.sh
3. wait several hours :)
4. bootstrap.sh finishes installing ncurses, starts to run env-update
5. env-update exits prematuarly giving error
6. run env-update manually, you get the same errors that bootstrap invokes
7. Emerge gawk before emerging system and it goes away

Actual Results:
it tries to run gaqk, ran awk instead, splatted errors. (it probably actually
updated ok, just looks nasty)

Expected Results:
bootstrap should have finished with no errors.

I'm not compleatly sure that bootstrap atually finished running. Emerge system
seemed to execut afterworse (its a known bug.. I forget the number, the nasty
autoconf wants perl but perl wants autoconf bug)

I'm marking this as Minor as i think bootstrap compleated.

did it or didn't it finish? If it didn't the bug is invalid becauase it should have installed gawk. If it did finish, then there is something to investigate.
