Description Vladimir Romanov (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2012-02-03 10:42:50 UTC
As of last news, xpdf is not maintained anymore, so it will be masked or deleted from portage, so i think, default mc.ext has to be changed to some other "standard".

Reproducible: Always
Comment 1 Sergei Trofimovich (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2012-02-04 18:15:12 UTC
Yeah, now it has:

> Open=(xpdf %f &)
> #Open=(acroread %f &)
> #Open=(ghostview %f &)

None of them looks nice.

Upstream's longterm solution is to switch to standard facilities:
https://www.midnight-commander.org/ticket/2118

We'll try to add some sensible defaults soonish.

xdg-open from xdg-utils would be sensible

Well... ticket in midnight commander is closed.
Why it is open here anymore? Is there any answer?
Comment 5 Sergei Trofimovich (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2012-12-28 18:56:12 UTC
Yeah, should be closed long ago.
