Previously ran qemu-kvm-1.0, recently upgraded to qemu-kvm-1.0-r2. This also pulled in a separate (new) vgabios package. In 1.0, I was able to use a Windows XP virtual machine (no special drivers installed) operating at 1200x768 resolution. After the upgrade to 1.0-r2, this resolution no longer displays as a supported configuration of the virtual display adapter - the closest available is 1200x800. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Upgrade from qemu-kvm-1.0 to qemu-kvm-1.0-r2 2. Try to set XP virtual machine resolution to 1200x768 3. Observe that this resolution is not available Actual Results: 1200x768 resolution unavailable Expected Results: 1200x768 resolution available
What version of vgabios do you have installed?
sys-apps/vgabios-0.6c
I wonder if it's the same issue: http://bugs.debian.org/654823
Note, I see that I made an error in my original report. Previously available resolution was 1280x768. Currently, the only close option is 1280x800. (accidentally typed "1200" in original report)
I apologize for this slipping through the cracks, Blake. Is there any chance you can try 0.7a?
Actually Blake, I think I've solved it in vgabios-0.6c-r1. Please let me know.
That did it! Thanks, Doug.
