Hello again, Here's my second contribution. This is a complete ebuild package for uptimed, an extension to uptime. Uptimed is a sort of 'top' for uptimes; it keeps track of your longest uptimes and gives you some basic statistics about what you're running. Check out http://unixcode.org/uptimed/ for more info. The attached tarball has what I think is a properly configured ebuild distribution, including: ChangeLog Digest Init.d script (start(), stop()) A patch to keep the uptimed install from illegally creating a directory in /var/spool The ebuild file itself The uptimed sources are, unfortunately, hosted on Sourceforge. The source tarball is downloaded directly from the Telia mirror, bypassing the cursed Sourceforge distribution mechanism. I don't know of any better mechanism for handling this, so feel free to tweak it if you do. Thanks.
