CL-FTP is a library which provides FTP client functionality to a Common Lisp program. CL-FTP uses the ACL-COMPAT package for network sockets and the SPLIT-SEQUENCE package for some parsing needs. Other FTP functionality (server) is promised in the future. dev-lisp/cl-ftp would be nice for it. Tested and it works

Thanks, Andrei. Committed to CVS just now. Here are some comments. The license appears to be MIT (mentioned in the .asd and LICENSE file). You renamed the ftp.asd to cl-ftp.asd. This is actually unnecessary -- its OK for the portage ebuild name (cl-ftp) to be different to the system definition name (ftp). (We use cl-* to have a similar package tree to Debian, so that users coming to Gentoo from that direction will hopefully feel at home).
