Ganeti doesn't recognize kvm's naming scheme, which changed from three to two digits. As in changelog, Ganeti 2.5 rc 5 solves this. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install / upgrade ganeti & kvm unstable. Run gnt-instance Actual Results: As in subject. Expected Results: Instance started.

Here is changelog of ganeti: docs.ganeti.org/ganeti/master/html/news.html This says also that htools have been merged into ganeti install; that means separate ebuild in Gentoo should be obsolete (providing ganeti ebuild will provide it properly).
The same issue exists in ubuntu, reported here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ganeti/+bug/932166 The linked patch http://git.ganeti.org/?p=ganeti.git;a=commit;h=585c8187c08a31e40a741c6fddadb6a6191e5c99 fixes it for me.
This should be fixed in the 2.5.1 version that's now in portage. Thanks for reporting.
