In the online package database, the entry for vcron says:

vcron

Description: The Vixie cron daemon 

In Portage, this package is renamed as vixie-cron. See:

This is causing problems on my system.  Any advice on how to upgrade/remove vcron when vcron doesn't exist anymore?
