/usr/lib64/pkgconfig/blas.pc file installed instead of symlink. This breaks swithing to atlas libs using "eselect lapack" ( app-admin/eselect-1.2.18-r1 from science overlay ).

something wrong in your setup, lapack-reference > 3.3 does not install /usr/lib64/pkgconfig/blas.pc.

Sorry, may be this was issue with migration of app-admin/eselect-blas to alternatives-2.
