Comment 6 Renato Alves 2012-01-23 23:41:53 UTC
After looking at the configure scripts, it seems something is missing.

From the configure script output it seems as if gtk-doc should be an optional dependency (--enable-gtk-doc use gtk-doc to build documentation [default=no]) but on the official page gtk-doc is described as "requirement". In addition there is a block missing (line 11992 in configure) related with gtk-doc.

Seems like an upstream mistake but it is unclear if the desired output is strict dependency on gtk-doc (and therefore wrong configure output on "default=no") or missing lines from configure.

Adding gtk-doc as dependency pulls a bunch of packages. It would be nice if we could put this behind a "doc" flag and set "-doc" by default.
