Description Damien Thébault 2012-01-22 02:14:14 UTC
gupnp-tools 0.8 does not compile with gcc 4.5

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge "=gcc-4.5*"
2. emerge "=gupnp-tools-0.8"
Actual Results:
Fails to compile with the following error:

Builds fine

I found the same bug in Ubuntu launchpad: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gupnp-tools/+bug/749179

Upgrading to 0.8.1 works (however the ebuild needs to be updated for the new source URL)

Update URI in gupnp-tools ebuild

The URI for tarballs specified in the ebuild is not correct anymore, this patch updates it.
Comment 2 Jeroen Roovers (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2012-01-24 16:49:12 UTC
1) Please attach the entire build log to this bug report.
2) Please post the output of `emerge -vpq net-libs/gupnp' in a comment.
Comment 3 Jeroen Roovers (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2012-01-24 16:49:50 UTC
3) Shouldn't it also perhaps require a newer version of net-libs/gupnp?
Comment 4 Jeroen Roovers (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2012-01-24 16:52:06 UTC
4) Also, there is an 0.8.3 version out there[1], and Debian even has an 0.8.4[2].

Comment 8 Gilles Dartiguelongue (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2012-02-12 16:59:26 UTC
I just commited 0.8.4 which adds a dependency on libsoup. It is not checked at configure but reading the code, some utility appears to use it directly, not just via a function of another lib. Does it fix the problem for you ?
Comment 9 Damien Thébault 2012-02-12 19:48:53 UTC
Yes, works with the 0.8.4 ebuild (even though libsoup is not installed nor updated with it, maybe it has been fixed upstream)

Thanks !
Comment 10 Gilles Dartiguelongue (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2012-02-13 13:26:37 UTC
Ok, don't hesitate to open a new bug if it fails again.
