Description Alex Weiss 2004-01-30 21:19:26 UTC
When I tried to play some movie trailers from the web the video would come in fine, but there would be no sound. (it was set to alsa in kmplayer.) I know alsa works as I have gotten it to work when running mplayer and have spotted the problem by running konqueror in the non-silent mode. When I try viewing video, I see this:

mplayer -wid 33557770 -slave -vo xv -ao alsa filename.xxx

The problem apparently is that alsa should be alsa9 instead.

I am using kmplayer 0.8.1 in KDE 3.1.5. All my other files are up to date.

Best,

Alex

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Try viewing an online video.
2.
3.
Actual Results:
I get video but no audio.

Expected Results:
Played video and audio.

I have this problem too. the problem resides in mplayer itsel, since if you change the player to xine you have audio and video. If you want to use mplayer as Kmplayer's backend you sould set "use default from mplayer config".

I can't reproduce this bug. I'm using kmplayer 0.8.2 with the stable mplayer and kde 3.2.1, so I think this bug can be closed with no problem.

setting works for me... this was most likely a problem corrected in the arts+alsa+dmix fix... I believe this got in for alsa-lib-1.0.3-r2
