Description thomas 2012-01-17 21:30:20 UTC
Current KBiff 3.9 (in KDE Sunset overlay) still depends on KDE 3.5. KBiff 4.0 should work with KDE 4.0. Thanks!

This is not about fixing some ebuild in the kde-sunset (KDE 3.5) overlay. It's about adding a NEW ebuild for KBiff 4.0 (which works with KDE 4) to the official portage tree. So, this issue has nothing to do with the kde-sunset overlay.

This project appears to be 'dead'
Comment 4 thomas 2012-02-10 16:53:42 UTC
Why should it be 'dead'?

kbiff-4.0.ebuild

If we really want an ebuild, here's one. The package has no "debug" option, no dependencies, so it's a very simple ebuild. However, I concur with Ian's statement about this being dead--the website even says that it works well enough to suit the maintainer, that he is unlikely to make any changes, even bugfixes, if users do not submit well-written patches, and that he's been trying to hand it off for a while without any success. Yes, there's been a bit of activity in the hg repo in the past few weeks, but that has been just updating it to require cmake 2.8. That sounds like dead upstream to me.

Added, thanks. (We have more dead stuff in tree.)
