Description Alex Orange 2012-01-15 20:12:05 UTC
Upgraded from stable vuze to vuze-4.7.0.0-r1 to get rss support (doesn't work in stable). Now at least the http (and possibly the udp) trackers do not connect. I have even tried the gentoo torrent from http://torrents.gentoo.org/torrents/livedvd-x86-amd64-32ul-2012.torrent so I don't think it's related to the torrent/tracker itself.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start vuze
2. Add a torrent that has an http tracker
3.
Actual Results:
Tracker fails w/ "Connection Error (SocketException:Connection reset)

Expected Results:
Tracker connects, returns results and vuze downloads the files.

I have already tried deleting the ~/.azereus/ directory, this had no apparent effect (other than losing all my torrents ofc).

Just realized there's two other bits of information you might be interested in:

1. I ran wireshark on the same computer and it looks like everything's okay (though I'm not exactly sure since it's a binary protocol and I didn't decode it). I don't see any premature close packets or anything like that.

2. I'm running transmission daemon on the same computer and it can connect to these trackers just fine.

I'm going to have to say this is a config problem. I have no problem at all connecting to http or udp trackers.

I would like to point out that taking 7 months to address this is an unacceptably long amount of time for something as crucial to basic function as this.

It didn't work back in January, but now it does. This leads me to believe that some other thing that Vuze depends on got fixed and they just didn't realize they were fixing this. Now RSS feeds don't work, but that's another matter.
