Description Johannes Hirte 2012-01-13 17:00:11 UTC
KDE solid doesn't handle removable devices anymore. When a CD/DVD or USB stick is inserted, the device notifier should show this with the ability to mount or something else. Instead nothing happens. udev is recognizing the new device and I can mount them with udisks, for example with
"udisks --mount /dev/sdb1" for the USB stick.

However, solid is failing to work with this devices. When I try
"solid-hardware mount /org/freedesktop/UDisks/devices/sdb1"

I get this error:
"Error: /org/freedesktop/UDisks/devices/sdb1 does not have the interface StorageAccess."

re-emerging udisks, kdelibs, solid and solid-runtime didn't help.

Reproducible: Always

Your are on testing profile. So which components do update?
Comment 2 Johannes Hirte 2012-01-30 10:26:16 UTC
Seems it was an udev issue. After adding this USe-flags:

edd gudev hwdb keymap

the device notifier from KDE works again. Not sure which one has fixed it. I didn't test it to the end.
