Renaming ebuild works fine!
This Version is also needed with kernel 3.2.0, as the older one does not compile.

However it failed for stable 3.1.6 kernel.

When will the new version be added to the portage?
I have this problem for quite a while, way before 3.2.0 kernel.. on multiple VM's..

3.2 is stable for some time already.

I can confirm that both open-vm-tools-2011.12.20.562307 and open-vm-tools-kmod-2011.12.20.562307 compile with hardened-sources-3.2.2-r1 after copying the respective 2011.11.20.535097 ebuilds, but open-vm-tools-kmod's ebuild needs to have its src_prepare function removed - Makefile and source code patches are not needed anymore.

Latest 651368 is in vmware overlay. please test.
