Description Nikita S. Kipriyanov 2012-01-05 04:54:43 UTC
I've updated my system some days ago, and virt-manager appears to be broken. After short investigation, I found that gdk-pixbuf is the culprit: it should have something like /etc/gtk-2.0/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/gdk-pixbuf.loaders generated, but it hasn't. Instead, after ebuild it says:

...
--- replaced dir /usr
>>> Regenerating /etc/ld.so.cache...
>>> Original instance of package unmerged safely.
/var/tmp/portage/x11-libs/gdk-pixbuf-2.24.0-r1/temp/environment: line 2761: 20046 Segmentation fault                 gdk-pixbuf-query-loaders > "${tmp_file}"
 * Cannot update loaders.cache, gdk-pixbuf-query-loaders failed to run
>>> x11-libs/gdk-pixbuf-2.24.0-r1 merged.
>>> Regenerating /etc/ld.so.cache...

It also fauilts if I try to run it from the console:
# /usr/bin/gdk-pixbuf-query-loaders
Segmentation fault

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge x11-libs/gdk-pixbuf-2.24.0-r1
2. see the output or try to run gdk-pixbuf-query-loaders manually

Actual Results:
Segmentation fault

Expected Results:
/etc/gtk-2.0/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/gdk-pixbuf.loaders generated and installed

I have "introspection" use-flag unset.

Here is my emerge --info:

Comment 1 Nikita S. Kipriyanov 2012-01-05 04:58:48 UTC
I've searched some before opening a new bug, and decided that other (similar) bugs actually aren't as similar as they appear. These are found: 387083 and 395103 - they all claim some other problem, probably with coreutils or revdep-rebuild was not done.

In my case, I have coreutils-8.7 and done all provisions from elog/summary.log, including all revdep-rebuilds.
Comment 2 Alexandre Rostovtsev (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2012-01-05 05:14:28 UTC
Please re-emerge dev-libs/glib and x11-libs/gdk-pixbuf with "-ggdb" in CFLAGS and "splitdebug" in FEATURES, and get attach a gdb backtrace of the gdk-pixbuf-query-loaders segfault (see http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/qa/backtraces.xml for how to do it).
Comment 3 Nikita S. Kipriyanov 2012-01-05 06:36:11 UTC
I tried to create a backtrace, but it looks strange:

#0 0x00007ffff2c89415 in QVariantAnimation::registerInterpolator(QVariant (*)(void const*, void const*, double), int) () from /usr/lib64/qt4/libQtCore.so.4
#1  0x00007ffff3278f9b in ?? () from /usr/lib64/qt4/libQtGui.so.4
#2  0x00007ffff7320995 in __cxa_finalize () from /lib64/libc.so.6
#3  0x00007ffff326ea16 in ?? () from /usr/lib64/qt4/libQtGui.so.4
#4  0x00007fffffffd5c8 in ?? ()
#5  0x0000000000000000 in ?? ()

I don't understand how it can depend on Qt.

What shouild I do next?
Comment 4 Alexandre Rostovtsev (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2012-01-05 06:47:08 UTC
Try re-emerging x11-libs/cairo with USE=-qt4
Comment 5 Nikita S. Kipriyanov 2012-01-05 11:40:10 UTC
Okay, I remerged my system before Dec 28, when new version of Qt (4.7.4) was released. So I updated Qt (x11-libs/cairo actially wasn't rebuilt), and everything works now.

So that was probably some bug in the Qt.

Thank you for the help.
