Which versions of dev-lang/ruby:1.9 and dev-ruby/rubygems do you have installed? Which USE flags are enabled for dev-lang/ruby:1.9?
(In reply to comment #3) > Which versions of dev-lang/ruby:1.9 and dev-ruby/rubygems do you have > installed? Which USE flags are enabled for dev-lang/ruby:1.9? Experiencing the same issue here with ~amd64. dev-lang/ruby: 1.9.3_p0 dev-ruby/rubygems: 1.8.11 ruby:1.9 USE flags: berkdb gdbm ipv6 ncurses rdoc readline ssl yaml
I receive the same error: /usr/lib64/ruby/site_ruby/1.9.1/rubygems/specification.rb:575:in `normalize_yaml_input': invalid byte sequence in US-ASCII (ArgumentError) from /usr/lib64/ruby/site_ruby/1.9.1/rubygems/specification.rb:487:in `from_yaml' from -e:1:in `<main>' jquery-rails fails to merge with the same error if ruby18+ruby19 or just ruby18 or just ruby19 is set for the target. Both jquery-rails-1.0.18 & jquery-rails-1.0.19 fail with the same error. RUBY_TARGET="ruby18 ruby19 -jruby -ree18" ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~amd64" dev-ruby/rubygems-1.8.11 USE="-server -test" RUBY_TARGET="ruby18 ruby19 -ree18" ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~amd64" dev-ruby/jquery-rails USE="-test" ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="amd64" dev-lang/ruby-1.8.7_p357 USE="berkdb examples gdbm ipv6 ncurses readline rubytests socks5 ssl threads -debug -doc -libedit -tk -xemacs" ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~amd64" dev-lang/ruby-1.9.3_p0 USE="berkdb examples gdbm ipv6 ncurses readline rubytests socks5 ssl yaml -debug -doc -tk -xemacs"
I haven't been able to reproduce, even with the exact same versions of ruby and rubygems. You could try with rubygems 1.8.15, since there have been minor YAML-related fixes in recent versions, but I don't expect that to help. Which version of dev-libs/libyaml is being used?
Latest - 0.1.4
Howto reproduce: RUBY_TARGETS="ruby18" emerge redmine; RUBY_TARGETS="ruby18 ruby19" emerge redmine
(In reply to comment #8) > Howto reproduce: > > RUBY_TARGETS="ruby18" emerge redmine; RUBY_TARGETS="ruby18 ruby19" emerge > redmine www-apps/redmine is slotted to rails:2.3 so it should not pull in rails 3.1.3.
I do not think that will work with redmine ruby19; but it's all set depends to the slots
I'm assuming that everyone who hits this error has eselected ruby19. Is that correct?
(In reply to comment #11) > I'm assuming that everyone who hits this error has eselected ruby19. Is that > correct? Yes, I select ruby19
Note that we currently don't support eselecting any ruby other than ruby18. I just committed a change to CVS that generates the specification in a different way, and I expect that it fixes the problem. Please report back since I can't verify it myself due to not being able to reproduce it.
