please add gnome3 USE to add gnome3 integration like describe here:

rename the attached patch as ffmpeg.thumbnailer and move it to /usr/share/thumbnailers/ to use ffmpegthumbnailer as gnome (nautilus) thumbnailer

This would imply that downstream maintainers would need to maintain the list of known MimeType's

And this is not something we are going to do

Either get that .desktop included in the upstream ffmpegthumbnailer package, or push it to GNOME directly
