Description Salim Fadhley 2004-01-28 12:13:46 UTC
When I try to emerge zope-2_6_3, the default site appears to be broken. In case the link is broken, the error message is:

Zope Error

Zope has encountered an error while publishing this resource.

Error Type: IOError
Error Value: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '//usr/share/zope//zope-2.6.1/lib/python/App/dtml/zope_quick_start.dtml'

The management interface appears to be uavailable.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Unmerge everything to do with Zope on your system.
2. emerge -u zope
3. lynx http://localhost:8080

Actual Results:
Website produced an error message (see above)

Expected Results:
Website should show the zope welcome screen.

are you sure you have 2.6.3 startet, not an old 2.6.1 instance?
Comment 2 Salim Fadhley 2004-01-29 08:26:54 UTC
Yes, I am definitely using pure 2.6.3. I unmerged everything to do with zope, deleted the zope folder and all of the /etc/conf.d entries.

I re-installed zope with emerge -u zope, which brings in only zope 2.6.3.

maybe another 2.6.3 bug, please try 2.6.4rc1
Comment 4 Salim Fadhley 2004-02-12 07:00:35 UTC
Confering on freenode #zope, the general consensus is that Zope 2.6.3 is generally an unstable revision - many of our problems might be resolved if 2.6.3 was marked as ~x86, I dont think it is suitable for production yet.
Comment 5 Jodok Batlogg (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-03-13 15:15:30 UTC
i think this bug can be closed. 2.6.3 was not production ready.

closing as 2.6.3 was bad.
