Looks like a crash in r600_dri.so in media-libs/mesa. Reassigning to x11 team.
Does this happen with both r600 classic and gallium drivers (when selected with "eselect mesa")?
It only happens for classic, gallium works fine.
I will leave this bug open in case other users hit this bug, but it probably will not be fixed. The r600 classic driver is already removed from upstream git and will not be part of mesa-7.12.
Note that the gnome-3 upgrade guide[1] already states that gnome-shell needs open-source ATI drivers to be in gallium mode. This information has now also been added to a pkg_postinst() message in the gnome-shell ebuild to make it more prominent. [1] http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/desktop/gnome/howtos/gnome-3.2-upgrade.xml
Is this still happening, is there anything else gnome team can do other than document the issue ?
(In reply to comment #9) > Is this still happening, is there anything else gnome team can do other than > document the issue ? I don't think there's anything to do, since r600c is dead.
Alright, closing then. Thanks all.
