IPv6 doesn't resolve anymore. Pinging to a numeric IPv6 address does.

i can't confirm this behavior

$ dig +short AAAA wh0rd.org
2001:41c8:1:4f39::10
$ strace ping6 wh0rd.org
...

you'll need to do some network debugging on your side to narrow things down
