On booting errors similar to:-

FATAL module off not found (alias binfmt-0000 off in modprobe.conf)
FATAL module ide-probe-mod (alias block-major-3-* ide-probe-modin modprobe.conf)

These are just a couple that do not seem to exist under the 2.6 kernel, these have happened since the update to devfsd over the last weekend.

I also get this problem, with ide_tape, ide_floppy, ide_cdrom, etc.  It does not seem to affect system perfromance in any way, but it would be nice to know what the glitch is.

try latest stable module-init-tools/devfsd/kernel/baselayout
