Description Beetle B. 2011-12-22 00:44:54 UTC
I did some major updates. I upgraded libpng and recompiled lots of stuff to fix that. Then I did an emerge --depclean world (doing newuse, etc before that).

In all of this, gnucash got upgraded to 2.4.7, and it stopped working. I can't go back to 2.4.6 - no longer in the tree. revdep-rebuild shows nothing awry.

Reproducible: Always

Actual Results:
When I try to run gnucash:

gnc.bin-Message: main: binreloc relocation support was disabled at configure time.

zsh: segmentation fault  gnucash

You ran the right program for debugging purposes, only you forgot to ask it for an actual backtrace.

You need to rebuild glibmm with debugging symbols to get a proper trace
Comment 4 Beetle B. 2011-12-23 17:36:09 UTC
I have this in my make.conf:

CFLAGS="-O2 -pipe -march=native -ggdb".

I rebuilt glibmm and still get this:

Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.

Comment 5 Pacho Ramos gentoo-dev 2011-12-24 15:15:21 UTC
Maybe you are missing proper FEATURES:
http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/qa/backtraces.xml
Comment 6 Beetle B. 2011-12-24 17:40:12 UTC
FEATURES="parallel-fetch splitdebug"
Comment 7 Florian Mickler 2012-01-28 22:42:55 UTC
I had this problem (also with a similar riddled backtrace) too

USE=webkit emerge gnucash

fixed it for me. Do you have webkit use-flag enabled?
Comment 8 Beetle B. 2012-01-29 23:34:26 UTC
That did the trick. Thanks.
Comment 9 Pacho Ramos gentoo-dev 2012-02-13 10:29:39 UTC
Please retry with 2.4.10 as it doesn't crash for me with:

[ebuild R ] app-office/gnucash-2.4.10 USE="cxx doc python -chipcard -debug -hbci -mysql -ofx -postgres -quotes -sqlite -webkit" 0 kB
Comment 10 Beetle B. 2012-02-20 22:25:56 UTC
2.4.10 did not crash for me with -webkit
