I'm *hoping* this is the right section for this bug report, but its not very clear and I'm working mostly on guess work. http://devmanual.gentoo.org/appendices/contributing/index.html States: "Whether you've found a typo or have written an entire new section, the best way to get in touch is via Bugzilla at bugs.gentoo.org." Great! So I head over to bugzilla: pick a product on which to enter a bug: ... "Examples for bugs that should NOT be filed here ... Documentation updates (use Documentation below)" Right, gotcha, its *NOT* Gentoo Linux. Time to look at the other choices. "Documentation: Guides and handbooks located under www.gentoo.org/doc" Hmm, The dev manual sure doesn't fall here, the url is *very* different. "Doc Other: Documentation which does not deal with www.gentoo.org/doc or translations." Hmm, possibly here, but feels .... wrong. "Portage Development: Bugs regarding sys-apps/portage, sys-apps/sandbox and app-portage/*. Bugs related to other ebuilds belong in 'Gentoo Linux'." ^^ looks /somewhat/ in this ballpark, but still feels wrong, and I'd be tempted to think "Maybe they just got confused and stated the URL a bit weird?". Most I would imagine would not go as far as to ask "what else is in this category", and sure enough, seeing this page: https://bugs.gentoo.org/describecomponents.cgi?product=Doc%20Other Clears up my suspicion that "Yes, it is 'Doc Other'", it should probably be more obvious than that from the devhandbook page. Evidence: Some people have been as confused as I and filed DevManual Bugs under "Documentation/Other docs" : https://bugs.gentoo.org/buglist.cgi?product=Documentation;component=Other%20documents;resolution=---;list_id=667445 ====== For those of you who find my side explanation of how I encountered my problem confusing, the gist of it is this: 1. http://devmanual.gentoo.org/appendices/contributing/index.html Should reference the section "Doc Other / Devmanual" of Gentoo's bugzilla in close proximity to the link to bugs.gentoo.org 2. The same page should ( optionally ) link to the following URI to give a list of *existing* Devmanual bugs : https://bugs.gentoo.org/buglist.cgi?product=Doc%20Other;component=Devmanual -- Thanks.
