I'd just like to say hi and that I hail from the wintery north east. Specifically from Worcester, Mass. I'm a poor college student that is on his way to graduate school to DC to become poorer. I'll be doing grad work in computational biology and working part time for the evil govt (NASA). I was introduced to Gentoo by Mike Frysinger aka SpanKY aka my suitemate aka the hobo that lives on my couch and leeches my 100mbit. I'm a relatively new gentoo user but not new to the world of linux. I used to use bsd for my server activies and windows for everything else (don't hate, I needed to play half-life 24/7 and I was too poor for winex :P). After realizing that running putty fullscreen (24/7 connected to a linux box) in windows was a waste of my time, I converted my main machine into a gentoo desktop and fell in love. As time passed, I started to help out a bit with some bugs and give ugly ebuilds to SpanKY to add to portage. And here I am now :P I hope to help out primarily with Java (my research is primarily done using Java/Jess/Lisp so I LEARNED to love it [Note, I still hate Lisp and all of it's derivatives... but I don't count Prolog as one, I love Prolog]). I'll also like to help out with Games as I love to play games. Also, if any Polish translation is needed in Gentoo I can help out with that. As one can tell from my crazy last name... I don't originally hail from America ;P Looking forward to working with you guys and thanks for taking the time to read my ramblings ;) PS... Bonus points / drink on the house to anyone who can pronounce my last name and show me proof...
zx, what's your status -- come to irc and talk to me
added to portage, please resync in 3 or 4 weeks
Changing bug titles to comply with new developer bug title conformance standards, sorry for the spam.
Lookig at his devaway entry and seeing his last commit being over a year old, I assume it has been missed to retire him!?
I'm still alive, just slow, waiting for Java to finally stabilize so I can go back to lazy maintence mode. CIA has picked up some of my commits, for example I added systemtap to the tree not so long ago: http://www.gentoo-portage.com/dev-util/systemtap/ChangeLog#ptabs
i forgot to tell you when i called you ... people on irc said you should update said package systemtap ;)
(In reply to comment #6) > I'm still alive, just slow, waiting for Java to finally stabilize so I can go > back to lazy maintence mode. > CIA has not noticed any commits in 1.81 years now. http://cia.navi.cx/stats/author/zx Please note here if you are still alive or face retirement. I don't think there is any point in continuing to pretend being alive if you are not going to start actually committing.
Infra, please zx.
