The test in question is:

    assert_raise( SocketError ) do
      conn = @client.get_async("http://non-existing-host/")
      conn.pop
    end

You don't happen to have a "non-existing-host" hostname that resolves?

We should probably not run this test at all since it assumes network access.

Surprisingly, I do. I'm using OpenDNS, and I'm getting this:

$ ping -c4 non-existing-host
PING non-existing-host.localdomain (67.215.65.132) 56(84) bytes of data.
64 bytes from hit-nxdomain.opendns.com (67.215.65.132): icmp_req=1 ttl=128 time=651 ms

Comment 3 Hans de Graaff gentoo-dev Security 2012-04-28 17:42:56 UTC
I have "fixed" this by avoiding this particular test, since we cannot guarantee the DNS environment for it.
