Description Clemmitt M. Sigler 2011-12-16 16:21:07 UTC
Hi,

The old, outdated application net-wireless/wifiscanner-1.0.1-r2 can't configure against the newer net-analyzer/wireshark-1.6.4. wifiscanner's configure script requires the function libpcap_open be provided by libwiretap.so. In ver. 1.6.4, libwiretap.so only provides libpcap_open as a local function (when I build it locally from tarball with default configure), whereas ver. 1.4.9 provided it as a global function.

See also Bug 288015. I suppose it may be time to retire this program, as it's still dead upstream, now for 3 years; time for tree cleaners/last rites? TIA.

Clemmitt
