When I add the kde overlay via layman and try to unmask and install packages from there, the operation always fails with a message like "Missing digest for '/some/file'" For instance, if I try to autounmask =x11-themes/oxygen-gtk3-0_p20111213 I get the message: Unmasking x11-themes/oxygen-gtk3-0_p20111213 and its dependencies.. this might take a while.. * Missing digest for '/var/lib/layman/kde/x11-themes/oxygen-gtk3/oxygen-gtk3-0_p20111213.ebuild' This happens for each package from the overlay. It seems as if there are no fitting digest files at all. I'm only able to install packages from the kde overlay by moving the package(s) to my local overlay in /usr/local/portage and generating the digest file(s) myself. I thought this was a temporary issue, but I've now been experiencing this for quite some time. I also wonder why nobody else has reported this issue yet. At least I can't find anything meaningful about it on Google. I hope, this is not just a problem on my system (other layman overlays work, BTW). Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. layman -a kde 2. Try to unmask and/or install a package from the overlay Actual Results: Error message "Missing digest for '/foo/bar'" Expected Results: Digest files should exist and match the packages from the overlay. The kde overlay is using thin manifests. I believe this is what's causing your issue.

Seems to work as far as I can see. So I mark this as resolved for now.
If you're using a masked version of Portage, you should use the latest available.
