new system build script

This is the script that I was running in order to build a "new" gentoo system.

gentoo64 python # USE="gdbm ipv6 ncurses readline ssl threads (wide-unicode) xml -build -doc" ebuild python-3.1.4-r3.ebuild compile

changing mode of build/scripts-3.1/2to3 from 644 to 755
>>> Source compiled.

on not 1 but 2 systems, so does not replicate
Comment 6 Peter Waller 2011-12-16 13:26:50 UTC
I've also encountered this problem. The Makefile contains the statement "LIBFFI_INCLUDEDIR=	@LIBFFI_INCLUDEDIR@" after the configure stage, which gets picked up by distutils.sysconfig, which is why it fails during build_ext. The strange thing is, that if I "autoreconf -fi" and redo the configure step then the problem goes away. Replacing eautoconf+eautoheader with eautoreconf in src_prepare fixes the issue. Also, python-3.1.3-r1 used eautoreconf.
Comment 7 Peter Waller 2011-12-16 13:43:24 UTC
That is very strange. After a successful install, I can't reproduce the problem at all anymore. I do not understand, it was reliably failing for weeks.

I 1) replaced eautoconf/eautoheader with eautoreconf, 2) successfully emerged with my modified ebuild, 3) tried and failed to reproduce the problem with USE="gdbm ipv6 ncurses readline ssl threads (wide-unicode) xml -build -doc" ebuild python-3.1.4-r3.ebuild compile 4) deleted my python ebuild 5) emerge --sync'd 5) emerged the python original ebuild successfully.

This is a mystery to me, unless there was a change to the ebuild over the last day or two which fixed the problem?
Comment 8 Dirkjan Ochtman (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-12-16 14:30:56 UTC
There was a change on Wednesday, I think, for bug 394547.

So I guess we can consider this fixed?
Comment 9 Dyweni 2012-01-03 17:20:24 UTC
It is working correctly for me now. I consider this resolved.
