I'm using evince document viewer together with XFce-4.8 desktop. The issue is that evince invocation icon is installed into 'graphics' category. Although it is _document_ viewer (eou can easely see difference between evince and typical _graphics_ viewer like for example GQView). So, evince icon should be moved from 'graphics' category to 'office'.
This is an upstream decision, please report this to them instead: bugzilla.gnome.org And post link here. You can try to also note there that menu specs look to consider PDF viewers can be in either Graphics or Office sections: http://standards.freedesktop.org/menu-spec/latest/apa.html Looks like there is no consensus about this, I can see acroread menu entry in office, but DVI viewers like xdvi in Graphics instead :/ I am not sure if they will care as upstream doesn't even want to show any menu entry at all :S (they should use proper Categories anyway)
