Description Myk Taylor 2011-12-06 23:43:18 UTC
I recently noticed the forced downgrade from x11-libs/libXrandr-1.3.2 to x11-libs/libXrandr-1.3.1. The libXrandr-1.3.2 ebuild appears to be invalid due to a typo:

x1-misc/util-macros-1.15.0 should be x11-misc/util-macros-1.15.0

Log:

# emerge -p =x11-libs/libXrandr-1.3.2

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies... done!

!!! All ebuilds that could satisfy "=x11-libs/libXrandr-1.3.2" have been masked.
!!! One of the following masked packages is required to complete your request:
- x11-libs/libXrandr-1.3.2::gentoo (masked by: invalid: DEPEND: Invalid atom (>=x1-misc/util-macros-1.15.0), token 23)
Comment 1 Chí-Thanh Christopher Nguyễn gentoo-dev 2011-12-07 01:15:14 UTC
libXrandr itself does not itself depend on util-macros, it is the xorg-2.eclass which pulls it in. However I cannot see the problem that you describe, the dependencies are set correctly on x11-misc/util-macros.
Comment 2 Jeroen Roovers (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-12-07 01:20:34 UTC
Looks like that might have come from some xorg-2.eclass, but it wasn't the one from the main tree.

1) Please post your `emerge --info' output too.
2) Try to determine (use grep?) which of your overlays may have the faulty DEPEND.
Comment 3 Myk Taylor 2011-12-07 01:40:12 UTC
The only overlay I have is /usr/local/portage, but there's only a few unrelated ebuilds in there. 'x1-misc' appears exactly 0 times in /usr/portage /usr/local/portage.

I do note that on my amd64 system, libXrandr-1.3.2 is installed without trouble.

Well, when you figure it out, then please reopen this bug report with more information.
