this is an update of the cfitsio package. the current version in the portage tree no longer works because the version is no longer downloadable from the cfitsio site.

Created attachment 24658 [details] cfitsio-2.470.ebuild I haven't tried the ebuild proposed in this bug, but I'm submitting one that seems to work. I'm new to Gentoo and Portage and Ebuilds. Can someone explain to me why: 1) the cfitsio-2.470 ebuild above is not in the portage tree if it works, and 2) why there is no stable (non ~x86) ebuild for cfitsio available in the portage tree? It seems like cfitsio is a simple enough library to install. Is it just that no one is maintaining it?
The first ebuild seems to work for 2.490 as well if you rename it.
I think it is pretty strange, that this problem lasts so long. The bug was submitted at the begin of this year and really simple to solve, why doesn't anybody try to fix it? btw, it works like a charm if you rename the ebuild to "cfitsio-2.490.ebuild"
Done.
