Description Ben Davies 2011-11-29 22:55:00 UTC
After syncing the tree earlier this week, running "emerge -pvuDN system" wants to upgrade grep, binutils and net-tools to the latest ~x86 versions. I don't have "ACCEPT _KEYWORDS=~x86" in make.conf and don't have anything listed in /etc/portage/package.keywords

Looking at "emerge -pvuDNt system" output also suggest that grep and net-tools want to install deps that aren't stated in the ebuild (a number of gnustep packages and claws-mail respectively).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge -pvuDN system or world
2.
3.
Actual Results:
~x86 packages in package list

Expected Results:
No ~x86 packages in list

It seems like your portage tree metadata is corrupt. Try this:

rm -rf /usr/portage/metadata/cache && emerge --sync

Correct, that has fixed it, thank you!
/usr/portage/metadata/cache/sys-apps/grep-2.10 contained the content for gnustep-libs/renaissance, which is x86 and explains the weird deps being pulled in.
