Here's the updated ebuild for xmms 1.2.9_pre1. I disabled the dtd patch until the author provides us with a new one and added some einfo's in the postinst to get people to vote up his bug on bugs.xmms.org. I also updated all the patches to apply against 1.2.9_pre1.

Created attachment 24316 [details] distfiles/xmms-1.2.9_pre1-gentoo-patches-0.1.tar.bz2 left in 1.2.8-dtd patch for reference, but it's not currently used I applied the 1.2.8 patches against 1.2.9_pre1 and hand merged rejects to get us this 1.2.9_pre1 patch set.
1.2.9_pre1 appears to be running well. i'll commit it to portage as ~ in a couple of days... giving time for the distfiles package to be properly distributed
