Description Ulrich Müller gentoo-dev 2011-11-26 13:47:29 UTC
With gdm-3, login with S/Key (sys-auth/pam_skey) is almost impossible.

While gdm-2.20.11-r1 used to display the S/Key challenge permanently just below the password field, gdm-3.2.1.1-r1 now displays it for a few seconds only as a popup message at the bottom of the screen.

Why?

Are you using gdm with USE="gnome-shell" ? If yes, I suggest trying with it disabled. If it looks better, then we should forward this to upstream as it obviously is a regression.

Right, with USE="-gnome-shell" the challenge is displayed alongside the password entry field. Much better.

I think this should be reported to upstream

Reported upstream, see URL.

From upstream:

> I believe this was fixed at the same time bug 682544 was fixed. Please reopen
> if you continue to have problems in GNOME 3.6 or later.

Could you please check with gdm-3.6 ?
