With gdm-3, login with S/Key (sys-auth/pam_skey) is almost impossible. While gdm-2.20.11-r1 used to display the S/Key challenge permanently just below the password field, gdm-3.2.1.1-r1 now displays it for a few seconds only as a popup message at the bottom of the screen. Why?
Are you using gdm with USE="gnome-shell" ? If yes, I suggest trying with it disabled. If it looks better, then we should forward this to upstream as it obviously is a regression.

Much better.
