Description Nicolas Maire 2004-01-23 11:09:10 UTC
I can't boot from the beta amd64 livecd. It seems to hang on hardware detection but I can't be sure as I can't even get into verbose mode (I don't even get the "Press F2 for verbose mode" message on the splash screen).

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.try to boot using "gentoo idle=poll"
2.
3.

Actual Results:
System hangs on splash screen and doesn't do anything

Expected Results:
System should have booted

what's your hardware, and also, boot using

nofb idle=poll

instead. Please be very specific on hardware, also, please
note MANY people are having problems with RAM incompatabilities with
amd64, so you may want to boot with the 'memtest' option instead
of gentoo or nofb, just to test your memory. You should let it run
overnight.

Let us know.
