Description Ian Delaney (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-11-22 17:42:19 UTC
I have submitted a request for a gentoo overlay which has been added to layman.
Can't find it liste, don't know where or how to start setting it up.
I think the std gentoo overlay is a git 1.
the title set was idella4/improvise

let me quote myself from IRC:

you first have to accept the terms (by doing your first push), then tell the overlay team, that you did the push and would like the addition to layman ;)
Comment 2 Sebastian Pipping gentoo-dev 2011-11-22 22:08:23 UTC
Actually, your overlay *is* in layman. If

  # layman -i improvise

doesn't work try

  # sudo layman -f
  # layman -i improvise

That should do the trick.

figured it with help in #gentoo-overlays, some agreement re the instructs on the gentoo page needs some revision updating. I was completely confused by the use of user/<new_name>, fully expecting <user> need be replaced with my username. Wonder if it's just me. anyway it's done
