The install doc says u need 40mb of free RAM in order to do a cdcache so u can free the cdrom, my p200 has 64mb ram and I still can't do a cdcache, and I seriously doubt that the machine just posting and getting to the screen that asks for boot options is already usnig 14mb RAM. Although it very well could be, but I do doubt it.

Thanks. I've updated the gentoo-x86-install guide in CVS. The handbook didn't suffer from this though.
