Comment 1 Andrej Filipcic 2011-11-18 16:21:47 UTC
Only works with openafs-kernel-1.6.0 and maybe openafs-kernel-1.4.14.1.
Can you test the latter?
Comment 2 Peter Waller 2011-11-18 21:59:59 UTC
I got this:

 * openafs-kernel-1.4.14.1 does not support Linux kernel version 2.6.38 or higher

openafs-kernel-1.6.0 compiles and appears to function correctly, though I haven't stress tested it. Should 1.4 be considered stable? What's blocking the 1.6.0 bump at the moment?
Comment 3 Andrej Filipcic 2011-11-19 07:16:14 UTC
The openafs developer statement was that 1.4 series will not support newer kernels. The 1.6 series was declared stable, but the gentoo package was added only recently. We have been using 1.6.0 quite extensively on our institute, but only on the client side, the server was not stress tested yet.

There is no obvious reason not to mark 1.6.0 stable, although I was hoping for the 1.6.1 to come out sooner.

The 1.6.0 ebuild is out for 2 months, so I will request to stabilize it.

Can this bug be closed WONTFIX, perhaps?
Comment 6 Andrej Filipcic 2013-01-21 09:10:00 UTC
The bug was fixed by a new openafs stable release.
