Cannot build pulseaudio 1.1 on my system. When I try to build it through Portage, the compile phase fails with a ton of errors, seeming like there is a missing library somewhere, but I can't find it. Which version of dev-libs/json-c do you have installed ? Which package /usr/include/json/forwards.h belongs to ?
I have version .9 of json-c. For some reason, forwards.h does not seem to be a part of any package I have installed, even though it does exist on my system.
media-tv/xbmc:/usr/src/debug/media-tv/xbmc-10.1/xbmc-10.1/lib/jsoncpp/jsoncpp/include/json/forwards.h www-client/chromium: /usr/src/debug/www-client/chromium-16.0.912.36/chromium-16.0.912.36/native_client/src/third_party_mod/jsoncpp/include/json/forwards.h /usr/src/debug/www-client/chromium-16.0.912.21/chromium-16.0.912.21/native_client/src/third_party_mod/jsoncpp/include/json/forwards.h /usr/src/debug/www-client/chromium-13.0.782.99/chromium-13.0.782.99/native_client/src/third_party_mod/jsoncpp/include/json/forwards.h is what e-file [app-portage/pfl] says...
Could you see if there's a clue in what owns any of the files in /usr/include/json? Looks like a file conflict at the face of it.
About half the files belong to json-c-0.9, the rest don't belong to anything it would seem. Output: equery b /usr/include/json/* * Searching for /usr/include/json/arraylist.h,/usr/include/json/autolink.h,/usr/include/json/bits.h,/usr/include/json/config.h,/usr/include/json/debug.h,/usr/include/json/features.h,/usr/include/json/forwards.h,/usr/include/json/json.h,/usr/include/json/json_object.h,/usr/include/json/json_object_private.h,/usr/include/json/json_tokener.h,/usr/include/json/json_util.h,/usr/include/json/linkhash.h,/usr/include/json/printbuf.h,/usr/include/json/reader.h,/usr/include/json/value.h,/usr/include/json/writer.h ... dev-libs/json-c-0.9 (/usr/include/json/json.h) dev-libs/json-c-0.9 (/usr/include/json/json_tokener.h) dev-libs/json-c-0.9 (/usr/include/json/json_object_private.h) dev-libs/json-c-0.9 (/usr/include/json/arraylist.h) dev-libs/json-c-0.9 (/usr/include/json/json_object.h) dev-libs/json-c-0.9 (/usr/include/json/bits.h) dev-libs/json-c-0.9 (/usr/include/json/debug.h) dev-libs/json-c-0.9 (/usr/include/json/linkhash.h) dev-libs/json-c-0.9 (/usr/include/json/printbuf.h) dev-libs/json-c-0.9 (/usr/include/json/json_util.h) I could try to re-emerge json-c, maybe that'll fix something
Quick update: After re-emerging json-c, the files have not been updated, and still don't belong to any packages I have installed.
For now, I'd move those extra files out and see if something else breaks.
Well with the extra files gone, pulseaudio builds. Though I'm still not quite sure what put them there in the first place, that is outside the scope of this. Thank you very much for your time, I'll go ahead and mark this as resolved.
