Kapitel 4 (http://www.gentoo.org/doc/de/altinstall.xml#doc_chap4) suggeriert, dass ohne PXE-Unterstützung auf dem Mainboard nicht gebootet werden kann. Dies ist jedoch falsch. Es besteht die Möglichkeit von {CD,USB,Floppy,..} ein PXE-fähiges Image zu laden, welches es auch alten Mainboards erlaubt, diskless zu booten.

1. try to boot via pxe from a non-pxe capable mainboard

The mainboard type doesn't matter anymore.

docs-team: This is not actually a translation bug, but rather a request to change something in the original document. Here's a translation:

Chapter 4 (http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/altinstall.xml#doc_chap4) suggests that booting without PXE support on the mainboard is not possible. This, however, is false. You can also load a PXE-capable image from {CD,USB,floppy} which also allows older mainboards to boot diskless.
