copied directly from 1.1.4 ebuild, added cvs eclass bits. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: suggestions from scribus FAQ: "I would suggest using the following versions: * autoconf 2.57 * automake 1.6.3 * make 3.79 You should also be using KDE 3 (pref 3.1.2 or 3.1.1a ) and Qt 3.1.2 or Qt 3.2.x. Please ensure that you are also using gcc 3.2 or later."
Created attachment 24212 [details] scribus-cvs-0.1.ebuild ebuild sets WANT_AUTOMAKE="1.7" WANT_AUTOCONF="2.5", otherwise Makefile.dist and other things will fail. NB: as of 01/21 ~8pm EST, cvs sources are apparently a little broken. sounds like it will get cleared up soon, though.
Thanks heaps for this ebuild! CVS is updated and compiles btw.
I think we don't need a scribus-cvs-ebuilds. cvs ebuilds should imho only come into the portage-tree if there is a real need for them, i.e. the current release version is broken/outdated. As scribus brings up releases quite often, we don't need a cvs ebuild. Maybe you want to publish it on www.breakmygentoo.net
Created attachment 34336 [details] updated srcibus-cvs ebuild I received an access violation error with the 0.1 ebuild so I edited the ebuild to be based on 1.1.7 which resolved the problem. Scribus actually changes rather quickly and I think it's one of those apps where cvs is usually more stable than the releases.
not sure what could cause a sandbox error, nothing in the build should mess with anything outside $PORTAGE_TMPDIR. I have not built scribus-cvs in a while, but I just did now and got no errors. in fact the only difference (since my ebuild was basically stolen from 1.1.4, heh) seems to be this: < inherit cvs kde-functions < need-qt 3 --- > inherit cvs dnno, maybe the kde-functions somehow makes a difference if you are using kde (I am not)
Yes, I am using kde and I believe the sandbox error had to do with setting up kde. So basically I looked at 1.1.7 and made the small change you noted which fixed the problem.
Created attachment 37770 [details] new ebuild: path change for the scribus cvs server The cvsroot path has changed for the scribus cvs server. This ebuild adjusts for that.
updated scribus-cvs-ebuild for new cvs

Comment on attachment 144854 [details] scribus svn ebuild I got here from http://www.scribus.net/index.php?name=Downloads&req=viewdownload&cid=11, if this is outdated, they should be advised the ebuild works for me, compiled last night
