xste is a subtitle editor with GUI (X windows)

It is a tool that allows exporting subtitles inthe PPML format, used by other programs like the subtitler filter for transcode and the subtitler-yuv application.

This package is serverly broken and from looking at the code (like.. char *malloc()...) also poorly coded.  When trying to set it up, I found a lot of issues and had to step by step consult the documentation just to get it started (ugh).  To be favorable I'm attaching the ebuild and patch I used to get things running.  I'd recommend trying to get it into the breakmygentoo overlay, and it's updated to 3.2.8 as well.
