Every version of nvidia-drivers requires the user to merge a new version of the nvidia config file by hand. The only difference tends to be the module version number (in a comment), and this is wasteful of everyone's time. Please either trim the version number from the file, or mark it to be automatically merged if this is the only difference. Sorry for the lack of follow up on the bug. I pursued this outside of just the ebuild but instead had the fix go into Portage since there's quite a few ebuilds that suffered from this. This is now fixed using a stable Portage.
